Specialist Diploma in Applied Artificial Intelligence is a one-year course. Lesson is conducted three times a week and three hours each time. In this course, there will be tutorials, graded assignments, and a Capstone Project to be completed.
With the outbreak of covid pandemic, the dynamic of the work environment has changed. In the past year, many jobs are lost and companies are been forced to move their businesses online or close down. This makes me think about whether my job is secure after the pandemic is over.
In 2020, the Singapore government has provided each citizen $500 SkillsFuture funds credit to upgrade themselves. I decided to use this time to study a course for free since we cannot travel now.
Some of the hottest IT jobs now are in the Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Data Science, and Cybersecurity field. In the end, I choose to sign up for the Applied Artificial Intelligence.

Pattern Recognition & Anomaly Detection
Anyone who has a local Polytechnic Diploma or Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science from recognized institution.
Have at least 2 years of relevant work experience.
Those who do not possess the above 2 entry requirements shall be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
I decided to blog about my journey because besides the course detail I cannot find anyone discussing it online. Hoping this can let interested parties know what exactly we are learning and expecting out of this course.
I’m in the sixth intake and in the previous intake, students without IT knowledge can even pass the course.
The first two modules which we will be learning are Math for Machine Learning and Introduction to Programming. In the next post, I will share with you guys what are we learning in the two modules.
